Shakira Articles - Shakira and Antonio's Crisis

Ever since the fall of the Rua government in Argentina last month, Shakira has been stuck in a potentially career damaging situation.  

When asked in an interview, she admitted she was very preoccupied, as expected, over the situation in Argentina and with her boyfriend who happens to be the son of the ex-president.  After spending Christmas in Colombia, she has since fled to Miami for the past week.  Antonio has been advised to stay away from Shakira, and the ex-president is in Argentina being charged with treason.

Since their relationship started two years ago, it was innocent and gained public approval.  But because of the recent events, it has gone bitter.  Now the Rua family is associated with pain and suffering of a nation, and that association could destroy Shakira's image and career. 

Mexican and Colombian newspapers predict that the Shakira/Antonio relationship will end within three months.  Shakira - who never thought the situation in Argentina could be worse than the one in Colombia - has been told by Emilio Estefan to leave Antonio.  Husband of Gloria Estefan, Emilio has a lot of say over what Shakira does.  For instance, it was him who convinced her to die her hair blonde. 

So is this the end of it?  A life long love transformed into a year fling?  It is decision making time for our Woman of Grace.  Does she jeopardize her career further and stick with her man, or leave and promote a CD she originally wrote for him?
